For those new to the concept: “Environmental Conservation is the broad term for anything that furthers the goal of making life more sustainable for the planet, such as the protection, preservation, management, or restoration of natural environments and the communities that inhabit them.

Even further, Environmental Resource Management is a specific discipline that relates to the management of the interaction and impact of human societies (e.g. pollution) on the environment. It aims to ensure that ecosystem services are protected and maintained for future human generations, and also maintain ecosystem integrity through considering ethical, economic, and scientific (ecological) variables.

Additionally, Environmental Resource Management tries to identify factors affected by conflicts that rise between meeting needs and protecting resources. It is thus linked to business; health; biodiversity; human equality; environmental protection; sustainability; and integrated landscape, marine and coastal area management.”
