Scientists believe that “The physical world of energy, light, vibration, and motion have their corresponding principles in the etheric (spiritual) world or universe, ‘As above, so below.’ ”

This means that we can determine future effects of actions by visualizing them as possible corresponding tangible or physical events.

So imagine using people as stepping stones or a ladder to reach a point or destination. Those persons will become injured, ill or can be crushed, the foundation wouldn’t be that stable based on movement, the journey would be unpleasant due to the foul stench of wounds and death at the bottom of your feet, and the fact that people return to dust after death would mean that it can be expected that you will return to the exact position you started your journey.

Another example is when someone lifts you up on their shoulders for you to reach further. That task usually requires extreme strength, courage and dedication by the person doing the lifting. They will feel the strain and will become weak, unless you find a spot to climb onto releasing the strain. At this point there are two options:  1) reach down and pull up the person who lifted you up and rest in the comfort, knowledge and experience that the person has the qualities to get you to another level simply by lifting you (i.e. you being anything that is inseparable from your physical body); or start searching for people at the next level that can possibly lift you further. The latter involves huge risks, wasted time, and is extremely impractical, especially if you allow the person that lifted you up to walk away.

Continuing from a point made above – anything that is inseparable from you cannot fully enhance your existence. A person lifting you must be physically or spiritually connected to you for the lifting to occur, so progress can indeed be made through others, only by certain actions.
